The Hunger Games Review

Hello Reader,
Oops! It's been a while since we got connected.
Anyways, I thought I'll give you my opinion about the best selling book 'The Hunger Games'. For those of you who have already read this book, this may be a memory teaser.

This book has been breaking all records in the recent past and has been a great seller and a good-read. The book focuses on Katniss Everdeen, a sixteen year old living in District 12 of Panem, which is built in the ruins of futuristic North America. Katniss lives with her mother and her younger sister, Primrose.
Each year for the last 74 years the Hunger games have been held. All 12 districts of Panem sends in two tributes, one boy and one girl to participate in the Games. This is held to remind the districts of the Capitol's power over them. Out of all 24 tributes, only one returns!!
While reaping, Prim's name is picked out and Katniss volunteer's instead of her young, innocent sister. And Peeta Mellark, a baker's son is picked from the boys. Katniss and Peeta must fend for themselves against natural elements, the Game makers and the other contestants whose only option is to kill or to be killed. Suzanne Collins packed this book with lots of action. So, 'Happy Hunger games!! And may the odds be ever in your favour.'

Enjoy reading this interesting book. I'll be posting next week on the second book of this series "The Catching Fire" for an occasion. Till then Read, Write and Relish!!!

House of Hades Review

Hello Reader,
Woah! It's been a long time since I posted something. Sorry for the delay. I'll make sure it doesn't happen next time.
Anyways, most you might know that after a year long wait, House of Hades has finally released.I just finished reading the book so I decided to do a review on it.

The book traces the journey of the seven demigods as they race against time to close the Doors of Death. The story starts a few days after the cliffhanger of the previous book (Mark of Athena) and  shifts from Hazel, Frank, Leo, Jason, Piper and Nico's quest to reach Epirus to Percy and Annabeth's tale as they struggle to find their way out of Tartarus. The transition sometimes feels slow or sudden as it occurs right in the middle of some serious action but it is mostly pretty smooth. It has a much more serious tone compared to the previous books but there are quite a few witty lines that would make you laugh. There is a lot of character development throughout the book. Many of the characters who thought themselves to be worthless realize their true potential and emerge as true heroes. A few characters from Percy Jackson and the Olympians and Demigod Files make a comeback though not all of them play a very significant role. We are also introduced to some minor gods and monsters, giving us a little deeper insight to Greek and Roman mythology. Overall the book, which has been rightly described as Percy's deadliest adventure yet, is packed with action and a good read for anyone interested in mythology or is a Rick Riordan fan.

That's all for now I guess. I'll soon be posting something more for our John Keats month (which is now almost about to end). Till then Read Write and Relish!!
